Refreshed Connections Supportive Shared Housing is a structured, drug- and alcohol-free shared living program with clear house rules and participation expectations.
House Rules
These House Rules exist to promote safety, dignity, accountability, and shared responsibility within Refreshed Connections Supportive Shared Housing. All residents are expected to follow these rules while living in the home.
1) Nature of the Housing
- Refreshed Connections Supportive Shared Housing provides housing only.
- Residents are responsible for their own personal care, medical and mental health care, medications, transportation, and daily living tasks.
- Staff do not provide medical, clinical, personal care, or supervision services.
2) Respectful Conduct & Community Standards
- Treat staff, housemates, and neighbors with respect.
- No harassment, intimidation, threats, or abusive behavior.
- Use non-violent conflict resolution.
- Follow staff direction when addressing house-related concerns.
Disrespectful or aggressive behavior may result in corrective action.
3) Drug- and Alcohol-Free Housing
- This is a drug- and alcohol-free living environment.
- The following are not permitted on the property: illegal drugs, alcohol, and misuse or sharing of prescription medications.
- Violations may result in corrective action up to and including dismissal.
- This rule applies to residents and guests.
4) Safety, Violence & Weapons
- Violence, fighting, threats, or intimidation are prohibited.
- No weapons of any kind are permitted, including firearms, ammunition, knives intended as weapons, or illegal items.
- Serious safety violations may result in immediate removal and law enforcement involvement when required.
5) Guests & Visitors
- Guests are not permitted unless approved in advance by staff.
- Overnight guests are not allowed.
- Residents are responsible for guest behavior at all times.
- Guests may be denied for safety, space, or program reasons.
6) Curfew, Quiet Hours & Courtesy
- Residents must follow posted curfew hours.
- Quiet hours must be observed to respect shared living.
- Excessive noise, disruptive behavior, or loitering is not permitted.
- Phone calls and media use should be respectful of others.
- Curfew exceptions may be approved for verified work, court, or medical obligations.
7) Shared Living Responsibilities
- Keep shared spaces clean and sanitary.
- Clean up after yourself in kitchens, bathrooms, and common areas.
- Complete assigned chores or shared responsibilities.
- Properly dispose of trash and personal items.
8) Personal Rooms & Property Care
- Rooms are shared and fully furnished.
- Do not move furniture or alter rooms without permission.
- Damage beyond normal wear may result in charges or corrective action.
- Rooms must be kept reasonably clean and free of safety hazards.
9) Hygiene & Health Standards
- Maintain basic personal hygiene for health and safety.
- Clothing should be clean and appropriate for shared living.
- Hygiene expectations are not medical requirements and are enforced solely for communal health and safety.
10) Medication Safety
- Residents are responsible for managing their own medications.
- Medications must be stored safely and not left unsecured in shared spaces.
- The program does not administer or monitor medication use.
11) Privacy & Boundaries
- Do not enter another resident’s room without permission.
- Respect personal belongings and shared space boundaries.
- Sexual harassment, unwanted advances, or inappropriate behavior are prohibited.
12) Doors, Access & Security
- Doors must remain locked at all times.
- Entry codes or keys may not be shared.
- Propping doors open is not permitted.
13) Sign In / Sign Out
- Residents must sign in and out using the program’s designated method to support safety and accountability.
14) Legal Obligations (Re-Entry Participants)
- Residents are responsible for complying with probation, parole, or court-ordered supervision.
- The program does not monitor or enforce legal compliance unless required by law.
- Housing does not replace or excuse court obligations.
15) Strike Policy (House Rules)
- First Strike: Verbal or written warning and review of expectations.
- Second Strike: Written notice and corrective action plan.
- Final Strike: Dismissal from the program.
- Serious safety violations may result in immediate action.
16) Exit & Removal
- Residents who exit or are dismissed must remove personal belongings within the program’s stated timeframe.
- Items left behind may be donated after notice and a reasonable pickup window.
- Former residents may not return to the property without written permission.
17) Questions & Concerns
- Residents are encouraged to raise concerns respectfully with staff.
- Retaliation for raising concerns in good faith is not permitted.
By residing at Refreshed Connections Supportive Shared Housing, residents agree to follow all House Rules and understand that these rules support safety, stability, and shared responsibility.
